Police dogs don’t leave the force with a pension. But they do commonly leave with chronic medical conditions picked up during their long, faithful years of service. So who picks up the tab with the vet? Well, their dedicated owners are left counting the often-considerable cost - and usually these dogs can’t be insured.
The Staffordshire Retired Police Dog Fund was established in 2013 to recognise the contribution made by these amazing dogs and to help raise funds for their ongoing welfare. It’s our way of saying thanks.
Whether you have given a home to a retired Police dog from Staffordshire and would like to join the fund, or can contribute in any way, we’d love to hear from you - we don’t bite!
